An alkaline dry battery is a long-life disposable battery that has been improved on the basis of common zinc-manganese acid batteries. Also known as alkaline manganese dry battery. It is the same shape and size as a normal manganese battery and is often used as a flash power source due to its improved performance.
The anode material of the alkaline dry battery is zinc, the positive electrode is manganese dioxide, the electrolyte is sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide solution, and the positive electrode material is carbon rod. In the middle of its structure is a positive electrode composed of carbon rods, which are wrapped with a fiber material impregnated with sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide solution, and then wrapped with manganese dioxide, and finally composed of a zinc cylinder to form a negative electrode. The outer casing of the battery is made of inert metal or plastic and connected to the positive electrode, and the negative electrode of the battery is connected to the bottom of the battery through a collecting pin.
Alkaline batteries have the same normal voltage as common acid zinc-manganese batteries.
